Central Congo Partnership
Bishop Peter Weaver Central Congo Partnership (clicking the above link will take you to the Congo Partnership web space they have created on a new server)
As an outgrowth of our Hope for the Children of Africa connection to the Central Congo Area, a partnership was established between the people of the Peninsula-Delaware Conference and those of the Central Congo Episcopal Area. Our Partnership is based on three kinds of support.
Financial (for the following projects)
- Education
- Medical
- Nutrition
- Communications
Interaction
- Volunteer-In-Mission and Educational trips to the Congo
- Having people of the Congo tour our Conference
Prayer- The foundation of any work done in Christ's name must be rooted in prayer.
Peter D. Weaver Missions Committee Members
Our goal is to raise $60,000 each year to support the Partnership. Each church is called to be part of this effort. Gifts should be sent to the Peninsula-Delaware Conference Office (139 N. State Street, Dover, Delaware, 19901). Churches need to use line #43.4 on the Benevolence Remittance Form and return with any monetary gift.
The following photos are of Bishops Matthews and Yemba and the Covenant that was signed at the 2006 Annual Conference.

A fax received from Bishop Matthews stated: The Elections in the DRC are successfully
completed. Mr Joseph Kaibila Kabange was elected. The process was peaceful and thus
we should join with the people of the DRC with hearty congratulations.
If you or your church/charge would like to learn more about Congo presentations and/or more information related to the Partnership, please contact Rev. Jonathan Baker or Kevin Goodwin (Missions Resource)
